Who we are
Extension Check (extensioncheck.com) is run by Logan Fenn, a sole trader trading as Extension Check, based in Leicestershire, England. We're the data controller for the personal information described here. Contact us about anything in this policy at [email protected].
What we collect
When you ask for an estimate, we collect what you enter in the form:
- details of your project: type, rough size, timing, budget and whether you have plans
- whether you own the property, and your postcode
- your name, phone number and email address
We also record which advert or search brought you to the site (for example an advert click ID and campaign name), so we can tell which adverts work.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To introduce you to a builder. With your consent, given by ticking the box on the form, we share your details with one local builder (or an architect, if you told us you need one) so they can contact you about a quote. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing us; this doesn't affect anything already shared.
- To check your request and show your guide price. We may call, text or email you to confirm your details. This is in our legitimate interest in passing on accurate requests.
- To measure our advertising. Only if you accept cookies; see below.
We don't sell your details to marketing lists, and we share each request with one business only.
Who else handles your data
We use a small number of service providers to run the site. They handle data on our instructions:
- Tally (form provider) collects your form answers.
- Google stores form answers in Google Sheets and, if you accept cookies, measures advert performance through Google Ads.
- Cloudflare hosts this website.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they rely on safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or approved contract clauses.
The builder you're introduced to becomes responsible for your data once they receive it, under their own privacy policy.
How long we keep it
We keep your request for 12 months from when you submit it, then delete it. If you ask us to delete it sooner, we will.
Cookies
The site works without cookies. With your permission, we use Google Ads cookies to see which adverts led to an estimate request. If you click Reject, or don't choose, these cookies aren't set. To change your choice, clear this site's data in your browser and you'll be asked again.
The estimate form is provided by Tally, which may use cookies needed for the form to work.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to move it to another service. Email [email protected] and we'll reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We'd appreciate the chance to put it right first.
